He had 8 Years...and only released 8 tracks?

Maxwell's "BLACKsummers' night" couldn't have came at a better time. I needed some R&B in my life...and not that Beyonce "R&B" or that poohing Keyshia Cole stuff either...

I needed that R&B where when you hear the lyrics it sounds like someone sat there and actually wrote what they were feeling. (Which is not the case with music now a days...)

I needed something to sound like poetry--from the soul ...

So Twitter was buzzing with all these tweets from all the celebs talking about "Go get that new Maxwell!" and "Maxwell is blarring in my background, go cop that!" and anything else that would entice you to buy the album. So naturally I iMeeded it...

I found a playlist of 9 tracks...so I thought "Man, I wonder what the other tracks that are missing sound like.." Little did I know that this negro released a 9-track album...and get this...the last track is a freakin' INSTRUMENTAL!

(Yup...iTunes is charging $1.29 a track! Hell naaaww)

...But I almost always replay Phoenix Rise (track 9) everytime I hear it...

BLACKsummers' night is supposed to be the first of three in an "album trilogy" and he's on tour...so not only is Maxwell trying to land himself on that Forbes list but it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of Maxwell, at least until 2011. But yeah...The album is really good!

Besides "Pretty Wings" (which had a remarkable performance at the BET Awards), the other 7 tracks should be able to resonate within any human soul...or heart (if you have one).

My favorite track is "Cold"
